Buburuza is an AI-native financial platform that combines traditional banking with real-time crypto infrastructure. Users can hold fiat accounts in 50+ currencies, manage crypto wallets, send money across borders, and control shared access — all within a single mobile app. Think Revolut, but with deeper crypto integration and AI-powered financial automation.
I joined the team as a product designer during the 0-to-1 phase, working on the app from early concepts through to the first staging release.
The fintech space is crowded. Revolut, Wise, and N26 have set a high bar for what users expect from a financial app — clean UI, fast onboarding, and instant transfers. Buburuza needed to match that level of polish while introducing features that go beyond what traditional neobanks offer: native crypto wallets, multi-signature transaction approval, and granular shared account access.
The core design challenge was making complexity feel simple. A user managing fiat accounts in three currencies, a crypto wallet with six tokens, and shared access with family members should feel just as comfortable as someone with a single USD account.
I was one of three product designers on the team, reporting to a Product Owner and working closely with a Product Manager. My responsibilities spanned the full design lifecycle:
